I discovered OrigaLys when I started my thesis on "Development of architectural zinc-based composite electrodes for rechargeable alkaline batteries". Initially, I carried out my various tests on the OrigaFlex with 3 cycling lanes. Then, a 4th way was added in order to be able to test two candidates in parallel to make duplicates. I mainly carried out Galvanostatic Cycling in order to test the life of the batteries after numerous repetitions of charges and discharges.
At the end of my thesis, we continued with another project which consisted in increasing the size of the batteries while accelerating the number of tests in parallel. We went from 4 to 10 routes. Then, we even doubled, going from 10 to 20 routes.
About the device and its use, all the channels are connected and controlled with the same computer and the same software. Incidentally, they are connected online and I can therefore control them remotely. Working on strongly alkaline systems, I perform 2-electrode tests in most cases, and I perform 3-electrode tests with a pseudo-ref or Hg / HgO reference for further testing allowing me to observe the behavior. of each electrode.
We perform CCCV (constant current and constant voltage) -based tests lasting several weeks or even over a year on the same channels.
